Fly to Beijing, ready to begin our journey through China’s major cities. .

| Day 2 : Arrive in Beijing |
After greeting our tour guide in the arrivals hall, transfer to our deluxe accommodations to rest up for our full day of sightseeing tomorrow.

| Day 3 : Beijing |
With a history of over 3000 years, Beijing is an ancient city and home to a number of renowned cultural and historic sights. Our sightseeing today takes us to the magnificent Forbidden City, once an imperial residence and off-limits to the public, followed by a visit to the world-famous Tiananmen Square. Complete our city tour with a visit to the stunning Summer Palace, followed by picture stops at the 2008 Olympic Bird’s Nest and Water Cube. Beijing |
Like a giant dragon snaking its way 4000 miles across China’s mountainous landscapes, the Great Wall is the longest man-made structure in the world. Climbing its ancient steps, we can see just why it is considered one of the great wonders of the world. Our next stop is the Sacred Way, which leads us to explore the imperial mausoleums of 13 Ming emperors. (Full American Breakfast, Lunch, &

| Day 5 :
Beijing |
Explore the wonders of the city on your own or take an optional rickshaw tour of the hutongs (narrow lanes or alleyways) of Old Beijing. Ornate brick designs, wooden carvings and street vendors create snapshots of a time long ago. Arrive at a traditional siheyuan courtyard residence, where a local family treats you to a lunch of local delights.

Beijing -- Xian |
Before flying to historic Xian, we visit the Temple of Heaven, a 1677-square mile complex constructed in 1420 for emperors’ annual ceremonies of prayer of good harvest. Upon arrival in Xian, we are transferred to our hotel for dinner. (Full American Breakfast, Lunch, & International Buffet Dinner at Hotel)

| Day 7 :
Xian |
Xian is considered one of the four ancient capitals of the world and boasts an abundance of historical relics and sites, earning it the title of a living “Natural History Museum.” The first stop on our city tour is the life-sized army of Terra Cotta Warriors, serendipitously discovered by a farmer over 30 years ago. After admiring the realistic soldiers, horses, and chariots, we venture to Xian’s City Wall. Continue on to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and return to the city for an Imperial Dumpling Banquet for dinner, followed by a colorful Tang Dynasty Show. | Day 8 : Xian -- Shanghai |
Fly to cosmopolitan Shanghai, a “bright pearl” at the mouth of the Yangtze River and China’s largest economic center. Today we visit some of the city’s many famed cultural and historical sites, beginning with renowned classical garden, Yu Garden. Drive through a shopper’s paradise, Nanjing Road, and complete the day with a stroll along the Bund for panoramic views of the city’s skyline. | Day 9 : Shanghai |
This morning is dedicated to exploring the Shanghai Museum, a veritable treasure trove of over 120,000 ancient Chinese bronze works, calligraphy, ceramics and paintings. The remainder of the afternoon is free to further explore this historic city on your own. Regroup in the evening for a dynamic Acrobatics Show following our farewell dinner.
